It records in MP3 or WAV format, including 96kHz/24-bit high-resolution audio, to microSD or microSDHC media. The DR-05 operates on two AA batteries. To install, open the battery compartment cover on the rear of the unit and insert the batteries according to the polarity indicators (+/-). Ensure the cover clicks securely into place.

The Peak Reduction function, optimized for music recording, automatically sets the gain of while recording. Limiter and low-cut filter features help prevent distortion.
